WHAT GOD REQUIRES FROM YOU AS A CHILD OF GOD
JOHN 1:12-13 12some, however, did receive him, and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God’s children. 13They did not become God’s children by natural means that is, by being born as the children of a human father, God himself was their father.
When you believe in Jesus Christ, the son of God, as your Lord and personal saviour, as the one who died for your sin. God instantly acknowledge you as his child. You begin to receive the benefit of becoming a child of God. When you believe in Jesus Christ as your saviour and repent of your sins, there is joy in heaven, the angels of God celebrate and rejoices over you. Because you have now become part of God’s family, part of his people, part of his children, part of his kingdom and your name written in the book of life in heaven.
LUKE 15:10 I tell you, the angels of God rejoice over one sinner who repents”.
JOHN 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
The love God has for you can not be compare with anyone love for you. God loved you so much that he gave his only son Jesus Christ to die for your sins, God use the death of Jesus Christ to bring you out of darkness and bring you into his marvelous light, to bring you out of bondage and give you freedom, to bring you out of your sin and present you a holy, pure and faultless being before God and are called God’s children. The death of Jesus Christ took away all your sins, and gave you a new life, a life that is given to those who has faith in God and believed in Jesus Christ as the son of God, the saviour of the world, who took away the sins of the world.
So by believing in Jesus Christ, as your Lord and personal saviour, you have being given the right to become one of God’s children, whose names are written in the book of life in heaven, and among those who will always receive blessing and favour from God.
So, as a believer in Christ Jesus, as one who knows God, God requires from you to live and act as one of his children, as one who have God’s very nature, that righteous nature of God, nature which is free from sin, God want you to be like him, he want you to do what he requires from you as his dear child. For when you do what God requires from you, you please him.
I am going to emphasize on the various ways by which you can please God, by doing what God requires from you as his child. These are the various way by which you can please God; By having faith in him; by living a righteous life, by having the love of God in you, by having the joy of God in you, by been a giver and a helper in the lord, by giving God praise and thanks always, and been prayerful in the Lord.
By doing all this, you are fulfilling the requirement expected from you as a child of God. I am going to emphasize on these subjects, one after the other, so that you will know how to go about them and do what please your father in heaven and be a good child to him.
1. FAITH
HEBREW 11:1 To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for; to be certain of the things we cannot see.
God require faith from his children, as Christian, you should have faith in God, for with faith everything will work for you as child of God, through faith you received from God, through faith you have been put right with God, you have peace with God through your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He has brought you by faith into this experience of God’s grace, in which you now live. Build up your faith in God stop the doubt, do not give doubt a chance in your life, let your faith in God be strong, for with God all things are possible, if you go through the bible, you will see people who have faith in God and never doubted God ability and how the impossible becomes possible. In their life by their faith in God. How they where able to receive abundant blessing from God, through their faith.
HEBREW 11:2-12 2It was by their faith that people of ancient times won God’s approval. 3It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God’s word so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen. 4It was faith that made Abel offer to God a better sacrifice than Cain’s. Through his faith he won God’s approval as a righteous man, because God himself approved of his gifts. By means of faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. 5It was faith that kept Enoch from dying instead, he was taken up to God, and nobody could find him, because God had taken him up. The scripture says that before Enoch was taken up, he had pleased God. 6No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him. 7It was faith that made Noah hear God’s warning about things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which he and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned, and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith. 8It was faith that made Abraham obey when God called him to go out to a country which God had promised to give him. He left his own country without knowing where he was going. 9By faith he lived as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God. 10For Abraham was waiting for the city which God has designed and built the city with permanent foundations. 11It was faith that made Abraham able to become a father, even though he was too old and Sarah herself could not have children he trusted God to keep his promise. 12Though Abraham was practically dead, from this one man came as many descendants as there are stars in the sky, as many as the numberless grains of sand on the seashore.
God is good all the time, to have faith in God is a good thing to a believer, for with faith you received blessing from God. And all things become possible for you through your faith in God. I pray from now henceforth that your faith will increase and will never decrease in Jesus name. Amen. There will be no more doubt in you, you shall believe in God to do all things for you, keep praying, God loves you so much.
2. GOD WANT YOU TO BE RIGHTEOUS
PHILLIPIANS 3:9 And be completely united with him. I no longer have a righteousness of my own, the kind that is gained by obeying the law. I now have the righteousness that is given through faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God and is based on faith.
Righteousness is required from every believer of Christ Jesus, as a child of God, God require you to live a righteous life, a life that is free from sin, a Christ life, having the nature of God. The death of Christ Jesus on the cross took away our sin and presented us as righteous being before God almighty. Our faith in Christ Jesus was counted as righteousness for us, because we believe in Jesus Christ, God made us his children, his people and we were put right with God through faith in Christ Jesus.
To be righteous means to have faith in God, to believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah and saviour of the world and to live a life that is free from sin. Jesus Christ died to take away your sin, through the death of Jesus Christ you were given the grace to live above sin, that means Jesus has paid the debt for your sin on the cross, where he died to set you free, even though you sin, you should go to God in prayer, who is merciful and forgiven, he will pardon and cleanse you from your sin. Because a price has been paid already for your sin.
The God you serve is a righteous God and God want you to be like him, God want you to carry his righteous nature, and be like him, just as God is a father to you, he want you to act and behave like his child. God is proud of you, he is proud to call you his child, his own, because he created you special, unique, in the sense that nobody can be like you so keep on building up your Christian life, keep on doing what God want from you as his dear child, keep on living a righteous life.
If there was no sin there would been no repentance, no forgiveness, no mercy. Because sin exist, Christ Jesus was manifested that he may take that sinful nature from man, and replace it with the righteous nature from God. For whoever believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and personal saviour, as son of God, have righteous nature n him, which is that nature of God and has been drawn close to God. Jesus intercede to God on your behalf, he is the mediator between you and God. God loves you so much, you are the reason for his kingdom, he has made you a citizen of heaven, a citizen of the kingdom of God.
HEBREWS 4:14-16 14Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess for we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God. Jesus, the son of God. 15Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. 16Let us have confidence, then and approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.
You are God choice, keep on with your good work, keep on doing what God requires from you, and keep on living a righteous life. The God, who has called you into his marvelous blessing, will keep on showing you favour in all endeavour of life and may you receive grace to live a righteous life as a child of God.
3. HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD IN YOU
JOHN 3:16 16For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
For God loved us so much that he gave his son Jesus Christ to die for you and me, so that through his death on the cross, our sins are forgiven. God loved his people, he loved his children, those who believe in Jesus as their Lord and personal saviour. God is a father that love and take care of his children, you are so dear to God, God has inscribe you in palm of his hand.
Just as God love you, you should love God with all your heart, do what he require from you as a child, tell God that you love him, love others, be kind and nice to people. Do good to others, by this you are showing that you have the love of God in you. Have moral behaviour, a good character, be a decent person, let your behaviour reflect and show who you are, let people know by your character that you are a child of God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God. You should know and believe the love which God has for you. God is love and those who live in love live in union with God and God lives in union with them. You should love because God first loved you, you are one of the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable, love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth, love never gives up and its faith, hope and patience never fail.
Love should not be just words and talk. It must be true love, which shows itself in action. There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear. The command that Christ has given us, is this all who love God must love their brother or sister also. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, so that you, together with all God’s people, may have the power to understand how high and deep is Christ’s love in Jesus name Amen. Yes may you come to know his love, so be completely filled with the very nature of God.
4. GOD WANT YOU TO JOYFUL ALWAYS
1 THESSALONIANS 5:16 Be joyful always.
God the creator of joy, want you to have joy in you always. God almighty is the creator of all good things, he want you to put to work the joy which you have received from him as a child of the Most High God. You been joyful is to be happy of who you are as a child of God, and be happy for what God is to you; and has made for you.
COLOSSIANS 1:12 And with joy give thanks to the father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for his people in the kingdom of light.
God has reserved for you so many good things, so many wonderful things, as his child; that is why you should have joy in you, that is why you should be joyful always. As a believer of Christ Jesus, you should be happy for what God is to you, for God is the great provider, he provides your needs and takes care of you, as his child, what you are today is not by your effort or strength, it is by God’s grace. It is the Lord doing, you received from God blessing because, you are his child, part of his people and entitle to his blessing. Allow the joy in you to flow as river, because been a child of God is a wonderful thing; it is pleasant to call yourself a child of God.
It is joyous to know what God has made for you as his own, as his dear child, God has prepared for you the kingdom of God, how great and beautiful it is to be part of God’s kingdom, which you are part of and is your inheritance as a child of God, as one who believe in Jesus Christ. You have so many reasons to be joyous in the Lord. You should not be a sadist, a person who is always sad or angry. Why then are you a child of, children of God are not known for been sadist, use the joy God has put in you to conquer that sadness, refuse to be sad and be joyful and go to God in prayer with thanks and praise with a heart full of joy, see God change everything for your good.
God is a good God, God want to see his children joyful at all times. That is why God neither slumber nor sleep, he is always awake to guide and protect his own, his children, that is why he is called the great shepherd I can see the Joy of God manifesting in your life, your joy shall be full from now henceforth in Jesus name. Amen.
5. BE A GIVER AND HELPER IN THE LORD
PROVERBS 11:25 Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped.
God want his children to be generous, he want you to be a giver, learn to give to the Lord, when you give to God, God in return give back to you with his abundant blessing. There is a reward for what ever you give to God, children of God are known for their kindness, be kind to people, be a nice person, help the poor.
PROVERBS 19:17 When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.
As a believer of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is good to help others. No man who works for the good of others will ever remain wretched. Do something good for someone. Help others to reach their goals and aspiration and watch out for your incredible success that will stand the test of time.
ACTS 10:1-4 1There was a man in Caesara named Cornelius, who was a captain in the Roman regiment called. “The Italian Regiment”. 2He was a religious man; he and his whole family worshiped God. He also did much to help the Jewish poor people and was constantly praying to God. 3It was about three O’clock one afternoon when he had a vision, in which he clearly saw an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius!” 4He stared at the angel in fear and said, “What is it, sir?” The angel answered, “God is pleased with your prayers and works of charity, and is ready to answer you.
Cornelius was a generous man; he was a nice and kind person, a man who loves to help others. A believer of Christ Jesus who loves to give to God and God visited him. Nothing is hidden before God, he knows all things. God was pleased with Cornelius works of charity and in return God blessed him with his household. God will begin to take notice of your works of charity from now henceforth; yes the Lord will show you his favour and kindness.
I pray you will never lack in your life, you shall be a giver and not beggar, the Lord Almighty shall provide for your needs through Christ Jesus Amen.
6. GIVE GOD PRAISE AND THANKS ALWAYS
PSALM 147:1 Praise the lord! It is good to sing praise to our God; it is pleasant and right to praise him.
God want his children to praise him, to give him thanks always, when you praise God; you are thanking him for all the good and wonderful things he is doing for you. God loves to hear the praises of his children, he is happy to hear you praise him; God wants you to thank him for who he is, what he has been doing for you. It is good to praise God, when you praise God, you begin to feel the Lord presence within you, it is pleasant and right to praise God. Praising God bring down the blessing of God upon your life for good and turn every thing around for your good, It is God to praise God by singing songs of praise to him, by telling God what you know him for, the miracles he did, how great he is. You praise him this way; lord you are good to me, lord you are the beginning and the end, lord you are the living God, the God that can deliver, God you are the ANCIENT OF DAYS, God you are the one who created the heaven and earth, lord you will reign forever over all the earth, Jesus you are the lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world, Jesus you are the first and last, Jesus you pay the debt of my sin by dieing on the cross, Jesus you are the good Shepherd, Omnipotent God, The Great I am, The Almighty God, The Great Provider, The Prince of Peace, The Great Shepherd, you are the invisible God, Jesus you are Bright Morning Star, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David, Jesus you are the Messiah, the Saviour of the World, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lord there is non-like you the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel, Jehovah, the one who divided the red sea and the redeem cross over it, Lord you are the one who maketh a way where there seems to be no way, Lord you are the unchangeable God, lord your name is Emmanuel God with us, Lord you are the GREAT PROTECTOR, YOU ARE THE EVERLASTING GOD, you are merciful God, Lord you are worthy to be praise now and for ever more Amen.
So these are the ways to praise God almighty, you can also praise God with song of praise, you praise him by calling him what you known him for, who he is to you. It is a good thing you praise God always, every morning, when you wake up from sleep, thank him, sing songs of praise to him, tell God what you know him for, watch and see him shower his blessing, deliverance upon your life. I pray that the praise of God will never cease in your mouth hence forth in Jesus Name Amen.
7. BE PRAYERFUL IN THE LORD
COLOSSIANS 4: 2 Be persistent in prayer and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God.
As a child of God, it is necessary that you pray at all times, it is through prayer you communicate with God, for prayer is an act of communicating with God, when ever you are praying, you are speaking to God, telling him what you want. You give him thanks, you appreciate him, and all these are done through prayer. It is through prayer you can get your need from God, keep asking for God’s help in your life while praying.
MARK 11:24 for this reason I tell you when you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.
As a believer, when you pray believe strongly in your prayer, that God always hear you as a believer of Christ Jesus. You should be prayerful, for God want to hear from you all times, when you woke up from sleep every morning, the first thing you should do is to pray, thank God for his protection, upon your life and commit all you will do that day into his precious hand, ask God to be your guide, like wise when you are about to sleep at night, pray to God, before going to sleep. Pray with Psalm 121, thank God for been with you althrough the day, for his protection, commits your sleep into his hands.
So many believers do not pray to God before going to bed from week to week, but they can spent time talking, watching TV, playing game, they can not even bring out time to pray to God, to communicate with there creator, to give him thanks. Start praying from today, it is a good thing to pray to God, Jesus Christ was a man of prayer, Jesus love praying, prayer was part of him.
LUKE 22:39-46 39 Jesus left the city and went as he usually did, to the Mount of Olives; the disciples went with him. 40 when he reaches at the place, he said to them, “pray that you will not fall into temptation” 41 “then he went from them about the distance of a stones throw and knelt down and prayed.42 father,” he said “if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done” 43 an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him 44 in great anguish he prayed even more fervently, his sweat was like dropped of blood falling to the ground 45rising from his prayer, he went back to the disciples and found them asleep worn out by their grief 46 he said to them why are you sleeping get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation.
As a believer of Christ Jesus it is good pray at least for one hour every day, build up your prayer life, stop sleeping and start praying. Through prayer, changes occur in your life endeavour for your good, through prayer God protect you; through prayer God bless you, through prayer God deliver one from his problem. I know from today you will begin to build up your prayer life. I pray that God give you the strength to pray at all times in Jesus name Amen.

PRAYER
O merciful God have mercy on me, I have come to realize that you alone are God who forgives one sin, father I have come back to my senses and ready to forsake my old ways of sin, father accept and take me back as your child, for I believe in your son Jesus Christ, as my Lord and personal Saviour, as the one who took away the sins of the world. Close your eyes to my sins and wipe out all my evil. Cleanse me O Lord from all my sins and wash me clean from my sins with the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross for my redemption, create a pure heart in me, O God and put a new and loyal spirit in me. Give me the grace that I may live according to your will Lord and help me never to return back to my sins again and give me the joy that comes from your salvation I pray in Jesus name Amen.
Congratulation, you have been accepted and enlisted in heaven as one of God’s children, and your name is now written in the book of life in heaven. The Great shepherd, God Almighty is now your shepherd, you are now one of God’s flocks, he will guide and protect you in all endeavor in life.
Find a church to attend regularly, around your location, get a Bible for yourself and go through it everyday in other to grow in the knowledge of God.
Always pray at all times, MAY God give you peace of mind and comfort in Christ Jesus Amen.
